Our poor little man

Carter is officially a Skousen boy, (if you knew/know the Skousen boys you completely understand this label) This past weekend he had a head on collision with our kitchen cabinet. The sweet little boy split his top lip, when I picked him up and took a look at his lip, I knew immediately that he was going to need stitches. So we took him to the ER and the Dr. confirmed my fear that he would need to in fact have stitches, he started to tell me what was involved with giving a two year old stitches and I began to cry... They gave him some benadryl to try and get him to become sleepy, but 5 minutes later when the Dr. walked in, he came in to find Carter and daddy sword fighting with lime green gloves. That benadryl had the COMPLETE OPPOSITE affect that they were hoping for...I couldn't stay in the room when they began, so Curtis as familliar with this process as he is, stayed in the room, I walked outside and came back in when it was all over and just snuggled my tough guy, The next day he was up running around like nothing ever happened. We made it through our very first stich incident...I hope that there will not be any more of these, but Curtis warns that with two boys, this is just the beginning...Yikes!!

Merry Christmas!

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year, we went a little overboard with Carter's gifts but we figured this was going to be his last Christmas as an only child, he made out like a bandit and just loved everything from everyone. Thank you all so very much, we hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a very blessed New Year!

20 Weeks!

We are at the halfway mark! And the to answer the big question, we are having a .... BOY!!! We are very excited and think we have already picked out his name, Tyler... I think it is good, but who knows from now to the Delivery date it could change! I have picked up a yoga class designed specifically for pregnancy, this pregnancy I am taking the relaxation method, I just ordered the book Hypnobirthing, it is supposed to be a nice relaxing method, has anyone read this book? What did you think, I would love to hear your thoughts!

First ever attempt at a snowman

Curtis took Carter out on the deck to play in the snow, they decided half way through to try and make a snow man with the snow that was on the deck, which wasn't too much, it looked pretty good, until it started to melt, I almost didn't post these pictures but it's just too funny not to, once Curtis saw was his "snowman" was melting down to he had to destroy it in fear that our neighbors might be wondering what we were trying to say...lol... to funny

Our beautiful home!

I realized that I haven't posted any pictures or even really announced that we bought out very first beautiful home this November. Here are pictures of the front of the home and a view from our living room of our back yard. We love it, but I must say owning a home is a lot of work, we still have so much work to do, especially painting. Being from Arizona Curtis did not account for the weather and making sure that all the painting was done before the cold weather hit, we can't open windows to let it vent, so we have quite a few unpainted walls, but it is beautiful and we love it so much!

Carter and Daddy "Playing" in the snow

Aa day or so before Christmas we got an incredible amount of snow, last year Carter did not care much for the snow, but this year I am having a hard time getting him back into the house! He even stayed out and helped daddy shovel the snow and he stayed out there and worked as long and just as hard as daddy. My hard workin' boys!
